Hi Everyone, thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me.
I am Tammie Bailey Fults—a wife, bonus mom, godmother (too many to count), business owner, community advocate, proud Doraville resident, Saints fan (Dad tried out as a walk on), dancer, avid researcher, traveler, trivia enthusiast, game-show lover, and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing people together. While those titles tell a part of my story, what matters most is my commitment to serving others and strengthening the community we call home.
My husband, Tony, and I have proudly called Doraville home for the past 11 years, and we have lived in DeKalb County for more than 30 years. Our family has deep roots in this community. My bonus son, Ant, a proud Morehouse graduate, fluent in Spanish, lives in Nashville with his partner, Kevin and they love visiting and discovering Doraville eateries.
This summer, my mother—my heartbeat moved in with us and became one of Doraville's newest residents. Family has always been at the center of my life, and that value shapes how I approach leadership and service.
Professionally, I spent nearly 20 years with AT&T, as an Operations Manager, I honed my skills in business operations, project management, strategic planning, client servicing, and building partnerships. After leaving AT&T my business journey has included publishing a women's magazine, operating a licensee, and establishing a national women's organization dedicated to educating small businesses on economic development. Through this organization, I focused on educating entrepreneurs about procurement opportunities while providing consulting services throughout the competitive bidding process.
My journey of service to Doraville began in 2019 when I initially ran for City Council. During that campaign, I met a group of seniors living in difficult conditions at a Doraville extended-stay hotel. Their situation opened my eyes to challenges many residents face and sparked a deeper commitment to advocacy and community service. Although I was not elected that time, I never stopped working for Doraville.
When the pandemic disrupted lives and businesses across our city, I founded the Doraville Business Association to support small business owners struggling to survive unprecedented challenges. I worked closely with tenants in Peachtree Pavilion and other shopping centers, helping them navigate lease issues, unemployment claims, and funding opportunities. I also successfully brought together local business owners and the Georgia Department of Labor by arranging a virtual meeting with the State Labor Commissioner and agency leadership to address their concerns directly.
In 2021, alongside fellow Doraville residents Attorney Danielle Brown and Michele Palmer, we co-founded the Doraville Chamber of Commerce. As a volunteer Board Member, President and CEO, I have dedicated countless hours to connecting residents, supporting local businesses, fostering partnerships, and creating opportunities that strengthen our city. Through the Chamber, I have worked to build relationships across neighborhoods, cultures, and businesses because I believe a stronger Doraville is built when we work together.
As you know, Doraville is a uniquely diverse and vibrant community. It is a city filled with retirees, hardworking families, single parents, educators, entrepreneurs, seniors, young professionals, youth and longtime residents who all contribute to making our city special. My passion is bringing people together, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring every resident feels heard, valued, and connected.
My commitment has never been about holding a title; it has always been about serving people. Whether advocating for seniors, supporting small businesses, organizing community initiatives, or building partnerships, I have consistently worked to make a positive difference in and around Doraville.
I am running for City Council because I believe our city is strongest when residents, businesses, and local government work together. I am committed to listening, building connections, supporting responsible growth, and helping ensure Doraville remains a welcoming, thriving community for everyone who calls it home.
I would be honored to earn your support and the opportunity to serve the residents of Doraville.
